“When he founded the clinic, what Dr. Zein had in mind was to give Kuwaitis the opportunity to receive the best treatment locally, without them having to go abroad for professional surgeries. Beverly Hills Medical Center is specialized mainly in ophthalmology (70 percent of the services offered), dermatology, and plastic surgery. Dr. Zein believes that the health care sector in Kuwait is not in the best shape currently, and he advises providers in the private market to concentrate more on the quality of doctors than on business. At Beverly Hills Medical Center, there are four permanent doctors at the clinic, all of them non-Kuwaitis, and they collaborate with around 12 VIP doctors from the US and Europe who come regularly to Kuwait to operate on special cases. Dr. Zein admits that he faces a significant challenge when trying to hire permanent doctors, because the best practitioners are always very busy.”
