Fozan Group commenced its programme of diversification in 1983 with the formation of Al Fozan Electrical Materials Company to sup- ply domestic and industrial electrical products imported from leading manufacturers, followed in 1991 by Al Fozan Wood Industries Company, Al Fozan Architectural Hardware in 1993 and ARC Engineering Consultants in 1994. Next, Al Fozan Steel Industries Company was founded in 1996 and the Arnon Plastics Company established in 1999. In the year 2000,AbdullahAl Fozan was appointed Managing Director of Al Fozan Group, which he guides with a vision to maintain the Group’s leading position in every business in which it is involved, and to contribute to the well being of the society in which the Group ope- rates. In 2002, United Electronics was formed, marking Al Fozan Group's entry into the mainstream retail market with the opening of the first eXtra hypermarket store offering unlimited choices of high- quality electronic items
