SGH Group has diversified its investment in the healthcare area by expanding its promotion, delivery and maintenance of health care services through such landmark projects as the Saudi German Nursing and Allied Services Training Institutes, and the Batterjee Medical Colleges in Jeddah , Riyadh and Aseer. But Makarem Batterjee looked at this business from another point of view; he knew SGH Group had already established its success in the medical arena, but he wanted to do something that would help stem the increasing need for health care services: the Middle East and, particularly, Saudi Arabia have undergone lifestyle changes that have adversely affect the health of their populations.
